Christmas in Cali

We we're so blessed to have Christmas is California. After 14+ hours of travel, 2 transfers and 2 long car rides we got to Merced safely.

Can I just say, I love San Fransico's Chinatown. If you want to experience a bit of China and never leave the country then this is the place. Smells and looks a lot like Beijing. There was fresh food right out on the side walk and strange looking things to observe at.

He Lives!

This month has been a rough one. My good friend Angela Ly Cooke past away, in a tragic accident in Driggs, Idaho. She was 6 months pregnant and was heading home from school. She also had a cancerous tumor that no one knew about, we believe this was the culprit to the accident.
I was able to attend the funeral in Idaho and support her family. It was a tearful yet peaceful funeral knowing what we know, the Plan of Salvation. Her husband is being as strong as he can, he has a great family to support him. I truly believe that this was a sacrifice she made so she open the eyes of others and her family/friends of the ultimate plan. I've never felt the Spirit stronger than when Angela's family bore their testimonies. God lives! He does and we don't know why these things happen but they do. But He still loves us. Angela loved missionary work and wanted to go on a mission. Now she can do what she loved most be a mommy and missionary work.

Angela, I miss you so much, you are truly an angel! I wish we could spend every moment over again. I have so so many memories with you! I feel that this is not the end. This is not over, we will meet again and it will be joyful! It's only a little sacrifice for a beautiful reward!

So love deeper and hug those loved ones longer. We never know when our time is up. I love you all and hope you return it to everyone around you.

Vikings Game/ Minnesota

As you may or may not know, I'm a huge Vikings fan. So on Sept 2nd my sister and I went a Vikings preseason game. It was AWESOME! We had super good seats! We were in the 9th ROW! Loved it all!It was my birthday gift.

Minnesota was a great trip, we did tons of fun things. David and I went to the Minnesota state Fair and met up with our good friends.

We were able to go to the zoo. Mia's favorite was the Polar Bear. He was very CUTE!

Can you believe Max's is turning one and Mia's going to be 4!!! ****Tear**** How did this pass so fast? It was just yesterday, that I had Max. So where is David, he's been buried under tons of books... He's trying to dig himself out.

Old Nauvoo

This past weekend we went to Nauvoo to meet up with some good friends of ours (the Lopez Family)and visit Nauvoo. David's never been to Nauvoo, so it was a great trip for him and his history mind. The weather was hot and humid, and it rained. Good thing we stayed in a beautiful cabin... LOL... let's just say it was lovely and frugal.

I've been to Nauvoo many times before, but it's been about 7+ years since then, and I could swear that before The Nauvoo houses/buildings never had central air in the houses.

Overall, it was great fun for all. Mia and London had tons of fun together. We enjoyed each other and had a wonderful time juggling our kids while visiting exhibits and telling them to get back from the yellow rope. Yes, there were meltdowns, a lot along the way. But well worth the trip

Grandma in Town

Did I tell you I drove through the depths of water hell when fetching my mother-in- law from Milwaukee? It was HORRID! Some parts of the highway was so flooded, I though our car was going to stall. It was storming, raining, lightning, and tornadoes! Wretched weather. Sorry...midwest weather you are getting on my last nerves.

Anyways, I love my mother in law, she's the most wonderful women ever! It was worth the wait. Here are some picture.

I've been wanting to spend time with my family and time with Mia (One on One). David had to work, so he was back in Madison. he was lonely... sorry... So we were able to go to the Mall of America in Minnesota and check out all the fun rides. Mia and I jumped on lots of Nickelodeon rides. My sisters and brother were there to join in on the fun.

We went to a butterfly zoo at the mall. It was really fun! Yes, that's a real butterfly on my hair!

July 4th Soccer Tournament- My sister was playing flag football for a team called Blitz. It was hot, humid and LOTS of ASIANS! lol... All and all it was fun, kids did great on the car ride there and back and got back to Madison to see the fireworks with the husband!

Wisc. Dells & Summer

Yesterday we went to Wisconsin Dells, a 45 min. drive to a city of only waterparks. Mt. Olympus was the theme park! It was pretty jam packed for a Monday and tons of people who wore too small of clothes for too large of bodies. Need I say more?
Overall, I'm glad we didn't have to pay to get in, we got free tickets! WooWhoo... but $5.oo for parking, $5.00 locker, $15 for food= Boo..Whoo... They don't allow ANY kind of food or drink at all. That's how they make their money. I do have to say, they park looked really cool and had some pretty fun rides IF you don't have kids.

Then we went to the Outlet mall. Got some SWEET deals :) Gotta love GAP and Old Navy outlet!

We also met a dinosaur on our way home! He was very BIG!

Overall it was great day! I can't wait for July 4th in Minnesota! It's been too long.

Minnesota & Mother's Day

It was so great to return back to the Motherland "Minnesota." It's been a while since I returned to Minnesota and we live so much closer that we decided to go. David finally got a job at Ace Hardware and we had the weekend off so we decided to go to MN, because we don't know when he'll get another weekend off.

It rained like cats and dogs on our way there and we were stuck in traffic for 2 hours, because of construction and bottleneckers. We didn't do much but go to my good friends & sisters flag football games! They won the whole tournament! It was cold...

Mothers Day was great, we went to church at my old branch. It was fun to see everyone. I'm so glad that my little branch seems to be thriving! David got me the movie "The Young Victoria" I love love this MOVIE!! David's my Prince Albert...For all you history, romantic's and lovers' you NEED to watch this movie. It made my mom cry.

Welcome to Madison!

WoW... who likes to move?!?! Moving is like a tornado coming towards you and you have to stand still. I'm still sane and married. So I'm good!

Finally now that we are situated, I can kinda blog. Everything in Madison is quite different from Rexburg, ID. There are TONS of things to do and WASTE your money on. Which is good and BAD. EVERYONE rides their bike everywhere! There are tons of people who bike to church. I thought, "Man, in Rexburg I lived less than a block to church and I didn't even walk!" OUCH.. But I'm getting a bike soon.

My sisters and brother came and visited from Minnesota. It was very fun to be with them. We went downtown and it was Saturday. Which meant Farmers Market and tons of people! My sister said "Madison is like a smaller Chicago" it's more catered to the college students here. Everyone LOVES CHEESE and has tons of UW-Madison BADGER PRIDE. It's weird.... but maybe we'll start feeling the Badger Pride too.

No JOB yet... EVERYTHING IS TAKING SO SLOW!! I swear these people are lazy...I think David's applied to tons of places and yet nothing. My teaching license is going to take 3-4 months to renew in Wisconsin! What the HECK!?!?

Whoever said motherhood was easy?!? I've been up with Mia and Max, late in the wee hours because they have been SICK! Mia was coughing and wheezing with a horrible cold.

I just found out that Max has RSV!! He already has an ear infection & yeast infection diaper rash! He's been quite cranky although he's usually well mannered. He's on a nebulizer which is so stinking loud, who makes them anyways? RSV and EAR INFECTION = LACK OF SLEEP for me and MAX. Making me grumpy, yesterday was pretty grim. Let's just say I was a walking zombie.

Sorry for the VENTING, I feel as though I'm having a "Woe unto me" moment. I'm not usually like this...

On the brighter side, we have been busier than ever! We are getting things packed, going to little parties and going to get togethers(We were until Max got sick). David is getting released soon from his calling. While we have talks to prepare and were planning a "WE ARE LEAVING REXBURG Party!"

We sold our RED CR-V :( I'm so sad... I love that car, it was such a cute car. Her name was "Ruby." When we are rich or maybe just alright, I want a newer red CR-V. Honda's are our friends. So what car did we get? We got a 2000 TOYOTA SIENNA. Yes, it's a van. So we can fit all my siblings when were in Minnesota. It's gold, so her new name is "Goldie"

Christmas and More...

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. David, the kids and I drove to California with David's brother from Provo to Merced. It was a long trip... but overall worth it. I sat in between two car seats...so lovely...It was a 12+ hours, give or take... We had a wonderful time there in California, although almost everyone got the stomach flu on Christmas morning! My family in Minnesota got it too..odd thing.

We are officially moving to Madison, Wisconsin in April! We have our apartment set and so we are getting ready to move back there... I'll be sad and excited. I love Rexburg but sometimes hate it. But mostly love it here. For example, since the new semester started, people think they can drive like idiots (is that harsh??) in this kind of weather and I saw so many near collisions on my way to Wal-Mart, I wanted to lock myself up forever in my apartment! Plus it's freezing cold this week, in Rexburg!

We went to the Fresno zoo on New Years Day. It was fun lots of things to see and not too many people. So it was a win win situation!

Catching Up

Having two kids and adjusting to this new one has been different! We are doing great, but life is sure different with every new addition to the family. Mia loves her new brother and I think she's doing rather well, although her potty training was perfect has now regressed alittle. So sad... But I heard that happens when a new baby is there.

Wooo---HOOO----David got in graduate school at University of Wisconsin- Madison in the Southeast Asian Studies Masters program. We are planning to move wither in April or May, depending on our situation and weather.

Maxwell is doing great. He SLEEPS,EATS,POOP AND CRIES. That's his life, but he's starting to be more alert and starting to smile.

Christmas is in California. Most likely our last Christmas in Cali, until we leave Wisconsin....

Long story....We were in Pocatello for David's GRE and Mia wanted to play with this comb. Well it was tangled in her hair and it took me a good 20 minutes to untangle the comb out of her hair. I don't know why she looks happy in this picture, because she was not happy after this incident!

I Can't Find my Camera!!!

Sorry folks... both david and I have been relentlessly looking for our camera. And it is M.I.A! So no pictures for now. But I'm 7 months along and due on Oct. 27th! So exciting..so in about 2months and a little more...

But we are chillen in Rexburg until David gets into graduate school. David takes the GRE in Pocatello on 1st of Sept. (major relief!) And we might take a little trip to Minnesota! I want to go so bad! I was watching Andy Zimmerman on Travel Channel and he's a Minnesotan, and I really want to go to the Minnesota State Fair. Also, while we are there visit the U of W Madison campus. So we'll have to see if this trip will work out or not.

Summer has been great! And I'm thinking of making a coupon/frugal/saving money blog. P.S. this weekend is my birthday! I'm getting old...LOL...

My Two Cents of Jon and Kate Plus 8

Okay...I've watched Jon and Kate plus 8 for a while now and I'm very sadden by their recent news. David and I love watching the show and have seen it since the begining and obviosly both of them have changed. But tonight I was dissappointed by both their reactions especially JON! They say that this is a new chapter of their lives but yet he says he excited?!?! And why did he PIERCE his EARS?!? I get the feeling from Jon that his kids and ex-wife have been holding his life back! Umm... well you are a father of eight and only 32 years old, grow some hair and man up and make it work! I wished they'd announce they're canceling the show and working on their marriage. I think that this is the best way of dealing with the media, the tabloids and scrutny. Although, I don't want it to end, I know that's the best and their plans to try and make things work w/ the kids, seem ridiculous. Kate doesn't want to get a divorce and Jon seems angry so immature about going about this. I feel as though this is something that they'll regret.

So why do I care and writing about this... I guess for the sake of little Leah on the show. She reminds me of my little girl (Mia) I swear they look alike. Mia even calls it "The Mia Show" Anyways, I wish them the best and hope things turn out okay for both parties.

Free Fishing Day and the Circus

Yesterday was free fishing day w/o a licence, so we decided to go out to Ririe Reservoir and fish. It was a beautiful day and although we personally didn't catch any fish, Dia and them got lucky. We stayed out for 2 hours but Mia was getting restless and it was time for her nap, she fell asleep on the car way home.

Mia had a great time fishing with Thong she was laughing her head off and giggling.

It's a BOY!

Today, was the craziest day ever. We woke up at 3:50am to Mia and her wanting to use the potty. She's been having a hard time w/ her bowel movements (pooping) and we think that she's been holding it in. But each time she needs to go she cries, whimpers and screams on her tippy toes. It's frustrating. But we went back to bed after an hour of no luck. Then woke up again early around 8 and she finally went. I've used anything and everything to get her to go easier, but it's been tough.

Then I had an appointment at 10 to get our sonogram and we were excited! I picked up David from work and when we got there, David decided to let out some GAS in the car! I smelt it and THREW UP outside next to the car in the parking lot. I'm not even throwing up anymore!?! It SMELT BAD! We got there and the nurse drew my blood, only to hurt my arm and not get any blood. It hurt BAD! I think she hit a nerve, because usually it doesn't hurt, and I'm not scarred of needles but it hurt. So my arm still hurts.

The sonogram was great! Mia was a little naughty, although she loved watching the nurse poke me she was not interest at all w/ the sonogram. YES, it's BOY! So it's something different for us, since we have had Mia for so long. The baby was not cooperating w/ his profile or face positions so we could see his face. But everthing looks healthy, and all we want is a healthy baby!

Sorry we have been horriable at this so blog thing. But we will keep at it. I guess here goes our news. We are expecting our second little one and the fetus is 4 and half months along! We find out if it's a boy or girl on June 11th. We are excited, with whatever we are having. Mia is 2 and half years old and she is officially POTTY TRAINED! We are so excited and happy for her. It took a long break and patience to get her trained. She's attending the toddler lab every Wednesday and Friday at BYU-I. So..I guess she's the only one in school. David is studing for the GRE and LSAT's, that he'll take in the end of summer. He wakes up at 5am to study, what a smartie pants huh?
